Derby City Life Links were pleased to attend Rebuild?s celebration day on Wednesday 5th February. Rebuild is a service aimed at empowering survivors of human trafficking and modern day slavery by identifying and overcoming barriers they might face in starting a new, free life.
The day was filled with inspirational stories and a celebration of Rebuild?s successes. Everyone was also treated to some ice cream made by Just Ice, a social enterprise that employs survivors of human trafficking. It was an honour to meet people who have had these experiences, nd a pleasure to get to taste their hard work!
We have been working alongside Rebuild since the beginning of our service and look forward to our ongoing partnership.
We wish them and the people they support every success in the future!

Rebuild started as a pilot project between the Home Office and Derby City Council. It has received advice and guidance from Lara Bundock, CEO of the Snowdrop Project, whilst offering initial housing through Derby Homes. Amongst other things, Rebuild now runs Connect groups, which aim to develop social connections and skills for individuals they work with. For further information, check out their website.
