On Tuesday the 13th of July the creative group returned to face to face after a few weeks of being online. Louisa our volunteer was supported by a recovery worker to source out materials for our face to face creativity workshop .
For this weeks session we made a worry doll and a Positive pal;
Some background the Worry doll originates from the indigenous people of Guatemala but are also found in Mexico. The practise around the worry doll was a doll you would share your worries, sorrows and fears and hide it under a pillow before going to sleep at night .The belief was that the worry doll would take away all these feelings of sadness at night and by the next day one would find a sense of peace and wake up feeling refreshed.
As a counter practise we also made a Positive Pal:
We looked at how we can be mindful to remember the positives in our lives and all the attributes that we have and having that symbol of positivity .We created a positive Pal using colours and materials that create warmth and happy thoughts.
All materials for this workshop will be supplied .Call us on 0800 0322 202 to register your interested limited places are available!!
