Updated January 2020: Check out our new dedicated webpage!
Following the success of our working group, Derby City Life Links are thrilled to announce that we are starting a new Derby Hearing Voices Group.
This group is aimed at supporting people who hear, see or otherwise sense things that other people can’t. It is also open to other people who might have been affected by this, but don’t necessarily experience it themselves (eg carers).
The group aims to give people the opportunity to talk to others with similar experiences, so that they don’t feel isolated. it also has a particular focus on recovery so that people can achieve a quality of life, even if that means learning to live alongside their voices.
Our next meeting will be the first to open to anyone who wants to attend. Here, the group will agree on ground rules, before sharing their experiences and supporting each other.
We hope for this group to grow and grow over the coming months and to eventually be facilitated by trained peer supporters. If you have had experience of voices (or similar) and would like to be a part of running this group, get in touch with our volunteer coordinator today. There’s plenty of accredited training and supervision available to support you!
In the meantime, check out our flyer below.
