Mental Health Awareness Week happens this year on the 18th – 24th May. Led by the Mental Health Foundation, this year’s theme is ‘kindness’. Here is what the Foundation have to say about the event:
“One thing that we have seen all over the world is that kindness is prevailing in uncertain times. We have learnt that amid the fear, there is also community, support and hope.
The added benefit of helping others is that it is good for our own mental health and wellbeing. It can help reduce stress and improve emotional wellbeing.
Kindness could transform our schools, places of work, communities and families. Let’s shape a society that tips the balance in favour of good mental health, for all of us, but especially for those who are most vulnerable.”
We couldn’t agree more on the important of kindness and the benefits it offers. That’s why we’re planning a variety of activities and would love for you to join in. Whether that’s holding daily kindness for wellbeing Zoom sessions, watching kindness videos or doing ‘random acts of kindness’, there’s something for everyone! Acts of Kindness
We’re going to be doing random acts of kindness all week and blog about our experiences. Check out our dedicated blog post for the full details! We’d also love to hear what acts of kindness you have been doing – you can even be in our blog if you like. Let us know what you’re doing by getting in touch. In the meantime, why not get some ideas from these places:
